Purobeach Barcelona Review

Purobeach Barcelona sits at the more refined end of the pool bar and beach club scene. It’s a venue I regularly suggest to groups who want a stylish environment, good food and drinks, and a relaxed daytime atmosphere, without stepping into full pool party territory.

I’ve booked Purobeach for hens, birthdays, corporate groups, and mixed gatherings over the years, and the feedback is usually consistent. People like the setting, the comfort, and the calmer energy compared to louder venues.

Here’s the honest breakdown.

Real Vibe & Atmosphere

The overall feel at Purobeach is chilled, polished, and comfortable.

People come here to lounge, eat, drink, and talk. There is music throughout the day, but it’s designed to complement the atmosphere rather than dominate it. You’ll see plenty of sunbathing, cocktails at tables, and long, relaxed afternoons rather than people dancing around the pool.

It can feel lively on busy days, but it rarely crosses into chaotic.

Who It’s Best For

Purobeach works best for:
  • Classy hen parties
  • Birthdays
  • Mixed-age groups
  • Smaller groups who value atmosphere
It’s less suited for:
  • Stag groups chasing big party energy
  • Very large groups
  • Anyone expecting a wild pool party

If your group wants quality over chaos, this is a strong option.

Music & Energy Progression

Music is usually Balearic, chilled house, and lounge-style tracks.
  • Early afternoon: relaxed background vibe
  • Mid to late afternoon: slightly more upbeat but still calm
It never really becomes a dancefloor environment.

Pool & Layout

The pool is more about cooling off than swimming.

Most guests spend their time on sunbeds, daybeds, or seated tables. Space is laid out to encourage lounging and comfort rather than movement and dancing.

Shaded areas are a big plus here, especially in summer.

Crowd Type

  • International crowd
  • Slightly older average age than party venues
  • Couples, friends, and smaller groups
You’ll also see some hotel guests using the venue.

Booking & Minimum Spend Reality

On busy days, sunbeds and daybeds at Purobeach usually operate on a minimum spend or set package model.

As a rough guide, standard sunbeds or daybeds tend to start from around €150–€250 per person. Table reservations generally begin at approximately €500 minimum spend, while larger or more premium daybeds can range from €800–€1,200+ depending on location and demand.

Drinks are in line with other high-end beach clubs in Barcelona. Cocktails typically sit around €14–€18, beers €8–€10, and bottle pricing varies by brand and table position.

As always, prices fluctuate based on season, day of the week, and overall demand.

Location & Logistics

Purobeach Barcelona is slightly outside the very centre of the city.

Taxis are the easiest option. Most groups visit as a planned daytime stop.

The Pros & Cons

Pros:
  • Stylish, comfortable setting
  • Relaxed atmosphere
  • Good food and cocktails
  • Mature crowd
Cons:
  • Not a party venue
  • Not ideal for very large groups
  • Premium pricing

My Verdict

If I’m booking for a group who want a laid-back, classy pool bar with good food, drinks, and atmosphere, Purobeach is usually one of my first suggestions.

If the group wants big energy and dancing, and daytime pool parties read my blogs about Goa Beach or W Hotel Wet Deck

Building a Full Day or Weekend in Barcelona?

Most groups don’t just book one activity for their weekend, and a pool bar is complemented very well when it’s combined with one or two standout experiences around it.

For stag groups, a lot of people pair a pool bar or rooftop drinks stop with something like a private catamaran charter, private yacht charter, or a rooftop bar crawl later in the day. You can view all of our Barcelona stag do ideas and activities by clicking HERE.

For hen groups, popular combinations for the weekend would include a beachfront picnic, Butler in the Buff, nude life drawing, or a private boat charter earlier in the day before heading to drinks. You can view all of our Barcelona hen do ideas and activities by clicking HERE.
