Skybar Rooftop Barcelona Review
Skybar Barcelona is a very different proposition to beach clubs and big pool party venues. It’s a rooftop pool bar in the city centre, and the main appeal here is the view, the setting, and the relaxed rooftop atmosphere rather than high-energy partying.
I tend to recommend Skybar to smaller groups or mixed groups who want a nice place for daytime drinks or sunset cocktails with a pool, without committing to a full beach club or party-style venue.
Here’s the honest breakdown.
Real Vibe & Atmosphere
Skybar feels stylish, social, and fairly relaxed.
People come here to sit, chat, take photos, enjoy cocktails, and soak in the skyline views. There is background music throughout the day, but it’s generally low-key and never dominates the space.
It can get busy, especially late afternoon into sunset, but it still feels controlled rather than chaotic.
This is not a pool party venue.
Who It’s Best For
- Smaller hen groups
- Couples
- Mixed groups
- Pre-dinner or sunset drinks
- Large hen or stag groups
- Anyone expecting DJs and dancing
- Groups who want a big party atmosphere
If your group wants somewhere attractive and central for drinks with a pool, this fits well.
Music & Energy Progression
- Early afternoon: calm
- Late afternoon / sunset: busier, more social
- Evening: cocktail-focused
Pool & Layout
The pool is small and mainly used for cooling off and photos rather than swimming.
Most guests spend their time seated at tables or on bar stools rather than around the pool edge.
Space is limited compared to beach clubs, which is why Skybar works better for smaller groups.
Crowd Type
- International crowd
- Hotel guests mixed with visitors
- Wide age range
You’ll see couples, friends, and some small groups celebrating birthdays or special occasions.
Booking & Minimum Spend Reality
Skybar operates more like a rooftop cocktail bar than a traditional beach club, so pricing is generally more flexible.
On quieter weekdays, table reservations may not require a fixed minimum spend. During busier periods and weekends, you can usually expect a minimum spend in the region of €300–€500 for tables, depending on group size and timing.
Cocktails typically sit around €14–€18, beers €8–€10, with bottle prices varying by brand.
Because space is limited, availability is often more of a deciding factor than price, particularly around sunset.
Location & Logistics
Central city location.
Easy to reach by taxi or on foot depending on where you’re staying.
Works well as a stop before dinner or before heading out for the night.
The Pros & Cons
- Great city views
- Central location
- Stylish setting
- Good for smaller groups
- Small pool
- Limited space
- Not a party venue
My Verdict
If I’m booking for a group who want a rooftop pool bar with views, cocktails, and a relaxed social atmosphere, Skybar is a solid choice.
If the group wants daytime DJs and party energy, I’d send them elsewhere.

Building a Full Day or Weekend in Barcelona?
Most groups don’t just book one activity for their weekend, and a pool bar is complemented very well when it’s combined with one or two standout experiences around it.
For stag groups, a lot of people pair a pool bar or rooftop drinks stop with something like a private catamaran charter, private yacht charter, or a rooftop bar crawl later in the day. You can view all of our Barcelona stag do ideas and activities by clicking HERE.
For hen groups, popular combinations for the weekend would include a beachfront picnic, Butler in the Buff, nude life drawing, or a private boat charter earlier in the day before heading to drinks. You can view all of our Barcelona hen do ideas and activities by clicking HERE.
